Gault&Millau's review 2026

As soon as you step from the busy street into Bistro Mali Pijac, everything becomes better. The friendly staff will seat you in one of the comfortable booths and while you are relaxing, be sure to order something from the cocktail menu. Start with Foie Gras or a very creamy steak tartare or be pleasantly surprised by the beetroot tartare. Sour-sweet, based on red currants, with crunchy walnut chunks and a refreshing goat yogurt mousse. Do not skip the French onion soup, which is traditionally served gratinée, or homemade rooster soup with dumplings. The famous Mali pijac pljeskavica with Pirot cheese and kajmak is a classic, but youshouldn’t skip their sweetbread. Impeccably tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, it will satisfy the discerning gourmet. As a classic of bistro gastronomy, they make the duck fillet served on excellent warm oyster mushrooms in a silky sauce with sweet apple puree, which perfectly rounds off the harmony in the bite. Speaking of classics, here you can also eat a very good authentic Wiener schnitzel, thin and crispy served on a creamy potato salad. Baklava, crème brûlée and coffee or another cocktail are excellent choices for a sweet end to a pleasant meal.
