Gault&Millau's review 2026

Casa Nova is a charming osteria in Dorćol. The intimate interior is haven from the hubbub of the city with delicious snacks and good wine. Although the menu is firmly based on Italian cuisine, the chef enriches it with imaginative interpretations of classic dishes. Goose liver is a good example: round slices of fine liver are served on flatbreads of the same shape, with onion jam and a few pine nuts. This small bite brings a nice contrast of textures and flavors, the mild sweetness of the onion complements the rich note of the liver, while the bread and pine nuts add extra crunch. A particularly interesting dish are the Painter’s capelette. Infour natural colors, obtained from vegetables and herbs, filled with ricotta and spinach, and topped with sage butter sauce, they look almost like a small culinary painting. Simply, this dish is Claude Monet on a plate, so we conclude that the chef is clearly in love with bright colors and impressionism. The pasta is cooked al dente perfectly, which gives the dish extra elegance. Finally, do not miss the fagottini di mele, delicate pancake pillows filled with caramelized apple, pine nuts and raisins. With a scoop of ice cream and caramel topping, the dessert becomes the most beautiful, almost childhood memory.
