With one of the most beautiful gardens in Belgrade, Franš is a restaurant that should not be missed. During the warmer days, the garden is a true urban oasis, while in the colder months, the tucked-away interior, with many interesting details and warm light, brings the atmosphere of an old French bistro. The menu and wine list are extremely extensive and can easily become a bit of a challenge to choose, but a few dishes deserve special attention. For starters, try the garden patience pie, prepared almost like at home. Thin, crispy crusts hide a succulent filling of garden patience, cheese and eggs, and every bite brings a pleasant sensation of fine crunch that especially pleases the palate. The next dish is not for the meek. Pieces of tripes and veal head are baked with vegetables, served sizzling in a clay bowl. The aroma is tempting, and it requires a little patience before the first bite, which rewards with a deep and rich taste. For a sweet ending, chestnut puree topped with whipped cream, served with smoke and a small light show, makes you want to clap your hands like a child. Velvety chestnut puree and rich whipped cream create a nostalgic ending to the meal, recalling the sweetest childhood memories.
