In the beautiful landscape of the village of Ljubiš, not far from Zlatibor, Pećinar kafana is a family place associated with the same surname for generations, consistently nurturing the spirit of traditional hospitality. Situated beside its own pond, with accommodation, it exudes rustic warmth, in an ambiance filled with authentic details that evoke a slower, quieter pace of life. The menu is concise and thoughtful, built on recognizable dishes prepared from ingredients sourced close to home. Begin with a pie under the sač - with cheese and garden patience - alongside hot, crispy cornbread that pairs naturally with kajmak, cheese, or a spread of rich appetizers. Baked potatoes with kajmak and bacon, accompanied by Sombor pepper or sauerkraut salad, sustain the easy rhythm of the meal. The trout from the restaurant‘s own pond arrives simply prepared - an honest and quietly impressive dish. The strongest impression, however, belongs to the veal under the sač, slow cooked in an earthen pot until tender and suffused with natural aromas. A pressed plum cake with dried fruit, honey, and freshly ground nuts brings the meal to a close - a clear and heartfelt homage to local tradition.
