Gault&Millau's review 2026

Kod Piroćanca is the ideal destination to experience the full charm of Southern Serbian cuisine, where every detail is designed to engage the senses. The journey begins with the savory crunch of grilled đubek on arugula and perfect vine-leaf rolls served with a rich, strained yoghurt, continue with urnebes and trljanica, and you‘ll reach dry stuffed peppers. Crispy bećarac is a mandatory accompaniment, and when you move on to the main part, the dilemma is the lamb pljeskavica with đubek served effectively on pita bread or the soft liver in a crepine. Maybe something under the sač, or a sausage covered in cheese and sprinkled with truffles. They also have a section - Our Side of Steak, T-bone and bone-in ribeye steak, then the famous Pirot smoked meat, chicken specialties and pork medallions in various varieties. We have to mention the smoked pork shank and beef shin, and everything arrives juicy and delicious, ideal for both spreading and dipping. The experience concludes with a sophisticated sweet section featuring baklava and tiramisu, and a rich chocolate souffle and pancakes in different versions. Without a doubt, this is an unmissable destination for complete enjoyment of the local cuisine.
