Gault&Millau's review 2026

Beneath the generous canopy of chestnut trees near the seminary lies this peaceful gastronomic oasis, arranged with evident care for the comfort and ease of every guest. The kitchen is notably flexible - more demanding diners will appreciate its readiness to rework a risotto or pasta with ingredients of their choosing. The menu draws primarily from national and European cuisine, with confident detours into Asia and Central America. Celery chips arrive fried in crispy panko crumbs with a sweet and spicy Asian sauce, while an excellent hummus represents the Middle East and a refined goose liver terrine stands as the crown of the European selection. Ćevapi and pljeskavica anchor the local offering, alongside fine steaks for dedicated meat lovers. Rolled veal in supreme sauce on creamy mashed potatoes is a quietly assured classic, though the pork ribs deserve equal attention - slow-cooked until the meat reaches an almost creamy tenderness, then served with a refreshing mix of green salad and edamame that cuts through the richness with genuine effect. For lighter appetites, shrimp in tempura, tuna tartare in tacos and butterfly fish all make compelling lighter choices.
