Gault&Millau's review 2026

Pelivan stands as Belgrade’s oldest pastry shop, a storied institution where generations of craftsmanship meet since the late 1800s. In summer, their legendary ice cream draws crowds, while winter brings the comfort of wheat or chestnut purée with whipped cream - perfectly paired with boza, the traditional, slightly tart fermented grain drink. The menu spans Serbian classics and Oriental delicacies, from rich Srneća leđa (chocolate almond cake) to baklava. Modern palates enjoy chocolate mousse and fruit tarts, or the nostalgic Plazma cake. A rare highlight is the gemišt, a unique blend of halva and sudžuk - a flour and walnut specialty. Vintage photos lining the walls testify to Pelivan’s timeless legacy.
