Gault&Millau's review 2026

Situated near the Red Star stadium, this restaurant blends classic kafana flavors with contemporary execution. With over five decades of expertise from the head chef, the quality of ingredients is paramount. The house philosophy suggests that domestic dishes can take on a new face while retaining the recognizable tastes of the local gastro scene. Notable starters include the house burek, bruschetta and breaded pork shank on horseradish cream. For the main course, we recommend the Stambol-style grilled pork fillet on a rich sataraš base. The »Steak 97,« an aromatic sirloin stuffed with smoked cheese and peppers on a bed of kajmak, offers a discreet bridge between rustic and modern styles. A standout attraction is the Spanish-style suckling pig, the result of patient, slow roasting. For dessert, the Peter’s slice chocolate cake with fruit sauce and fresh raspberries is an excellent choice. This venue manages to unite the familiar with the new, providing a professional and pleasant atmosphere for guests of all generations. It is a place where tradition is respected but not stuck in the past, offering a sophisticated take on the hearty meals that define Serbian cuisine.
