Gault&Millau's review 2026

Specializing in game and traditional meats, Lovac is a legendary Vračar destination for serious diners. As a long-standing establishment in Vračar, Lovac consistently meets the expectations of the most discerning meat connoisseurs. We highly recommend the veal pâté, elegantly presented in a glass jar on a wooden board, accompanied by onion jam, fresh red onion, and toasted brioche. The pâté features a remarkably rustic texture and is expertly seasoned to highlight its deep, earthy notes. Its flavor is perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the onion jam, while the fresh red onion provides a necessary crispness and textural depth. For the main course, the beef tongue in horseradish sauce, served in a clay pot with potatoes, carrots, and delicate dumplings. Comfort food in its truest form; the horseradish is skillfully integrated, providing a subtle presence that enhances rather than dominates the palate. To conclude, the baklava is exceptionally juicy and rich in nuts and raisins. This final course is prepared with artisanal expertise, solidifying its reputation as a signature dessert at Lovac.
