Gault&Millau's review 2026

Madera is a cult Belgrade tavern to which the spirit and traces of duration were given by the local greats. The staff proudly and with dignity cherishes all the legends aware of their contribution. Above all, every coffee shop is known for its bread. The bread is delicious, soft and warm, and the bread is perfectly crispy. The rump steak on the burek test is practically a deconstructed burek. Juicy, aromatic and generously spicy pieces of rump steak are served on greasy and crispy burek dough, but in this case you don't need yogurt, because mileram goes over it, which perfectly balances the fat. A unique note to burek is given by jam sprinkled with mileram. As befits, a cult place must serve iconic dishes, so duck on pea puree is unavoidable. Juicy, soft meat that melts in your mouth is served with mashed potatoes of a classic version, so it is not perfectly creamy but rustically simplified. With the addition of duck cracklings, this dish can be eaten every day. On the recommendation of the waitress, strawberries au gratin with sweet cream and freshly prepared caramel arrive. We have not regretted it because they are a nice, easy finish to whatever meal you decide on. An excellent selection of wines and brandies rounds off the experience. There is no doubt that Madeira will remain a cult place in Belgrade for a long time.
