Vuk is one of the few remaining bastions where the nostalgic spirit of an authentic old tavern is still cherished. Located in the heart of the pedestrian zone near Knez Mihailova, it features old-fashioned waiters ready to charm every guest. Start with a cold rakija in a frosted glass alongside warm cheese pie, or crispy fried celery chips. Always check the daily dishes, which are prepared with gusto - from string beans with meat and sarma, to veal tongue in tomato sauce. National classics like creamy baked beans - with or without a sausage and outstanding Wiener Schnitzel, and Karađorđe steak are staples here. They also prepare a wide variety of grilled meats but their roasts truly stand out. The perfectly seasoned veal is roasted to an almost creamy texture that melts with every bite, and the pork shank is equally tender. To round off the meal, pancakes, baklava, or vanilla slice pair perfectly with their excellent brewed coffee. The consistent quality and traditional atmosphere make Vuk an unmistakable choice for those seeking a genuine taste of old Belgrade.
