Gault&Millau's review 2026

Not far from Autokomanda, this house of home cooking combines an unobtrusive, warm ambiance with service that makes every guest feel they are in the right place. The menu focuses on well executed authentic traditional flavors, featuring recognizable specialties like mućkalica, veal liver, grilled sweetbread, and smoked pork loin. The gourmet pljeskavica is a standout - a strong, homely bite of juicy, spicy meat enriched with cheese and bacon, creating a layered aroma that builds beautifully against the accompanying baked potato. Equally impressive is the veal under sač, served in tender pieces with a smoky crust that contrasts perfectly with potatoes soaked in meat juices. To complete the meal, the baklava offers a softer crust with a generous filling of coarsely crushed walnuts, providing a calm, satisfying end to the stronger main courses. This is a slow food place where one can eat slowly and with enjoyment - surrounded by familiar flavors, with a glass of fine wine or rakija, and the pleasant feeling of being welcomed like an old acquaintance.
